Colloquium
16-17 December 2014
The colloquium aims at examining how the ‘feminine’ is (de)constructed, (re)defined and identified in different (con)texts, discourses, and practices. Due, partly, to the development of feminist, women, and gender studies, and to the critical tools they offer in different disciplines, one can observe a growing awareness in regard to the importance of reconsidering what was for long regarded as unquestionable and immutable when it comes to women’s concerns and issues. For instance, normalized/canonized representations and discourses that directly or indirectly contribute in shaping female identities are actually being challenged thanks to critical/fictional works that offer new readings, new visions, and new perspectives. This pluridisciplinary colloquium proposes to shed light on the former issues, and welcomes contributions covering a variety of disciplines including : literature, arts, translation, civilization, linguistics, etc.
